Geotope has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Solexperts AG
Geotope has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Solexperts AG. The agreement open new fields of geotechnical and hydrological monitoring and in-situ tests especially for state of stresses in deep underground structures (by Hydraulic fracturing)
Geotope and Meteo-tech have signed a cooperation agreement
Geotope and Meteo-tech have signed a cooperation agreement allowing them to share knowledge in the field of geotechnical instrumentation and developing data analyses of monitored data. Meteo-Tech Ltd. is a privately owned company engaged in supplying and servicing meteorological, industrial monitoring & control, air-quality and aviation equipment in the state of Israel. The company was established in 1989, and evolved around a core of professional experts who have been active in meteorology, industrial monitoring, aviation and air-quality services in Israel for the last 30 years. The collaboration between Geotope and Meteo-tech enables the construction of complex systems of geotechnical monitoring combining data-loggers and web based monitoring systems that are able to monitor real time deformations in soil and structures and to communicate with other geotechnical database systems. This collaboration has led to the installation of the first monitoring system in the TBM access shaft site in Tel-Aviv, which is part of the red line of the Tel Aviv Metro.
Monitoring system including recording of water level changes and deformations of slurry walls as a result of dewatering of groundwater
the system that was installed in the access shaft in Galei Gil includes piezometer and tilt meter connected to CR-800 Campbell's data-logger. The data-logger can be programmed to produce output files in variable formats depending on the requirements of the central database system. Recently a successful attempt to share data with Kronos system was made, Kronos system is the approved geotechnical database of the client (NTA) which designed to store all the geotechnical data in the project of the Tel-Aviv Metro.
Participation in the ISRM conference in Vietnam (Vietrock 2015)
Moshe Levin owner of Geotope has participated as a guest lecturer in March 2015 at a conference of the ISRM (International Society of Rock Mechanics) in Vietnam labeled 'Rock Mechanics for sustainable development'. Moshe presented in his lecture, the results of an in-situ deformability tests using the plate loading test which were part of the efforts to determine the deformation modulus of the rock mass in the Gilboa pumped storage project.
Analysis of measurements Plate Loading Test in Gilboa
Geotope in collaboration with Prof. Yossef Hodara Hatzor from department of Geological & Environmental Sciences conducted analyses of the deformation modulus measurements. The measurements were carried out in complex conditions within narrow test niches specially built in tunnels at a depth of 400 meters below the surface and below groundwater. The geological engineer Nisim Tel-Avivi from Geotope led the course of these tests starting with the preparation of technical specifications, determination of test areas and analyzing the findings.
Measurements of settlements in clayey soil - Road 6
Geotope sold to System-labs four sets of settlement monitoring systems as part of a series of pre-loading tests done for the design of embankments along the new section of the Cross Israel Highway (Road No. 6). The monitoring systems allow a quantitative measurements of the settlements and the developed water pressure during the consolidation process.
Strain monitoring in steel ribs - the Western Wall Tunnels
Geotope sold ISOTOP Inc. strain gages to monitor deformations in steel ribs which are installed along the western wall tunnel in Jerusalem. The strain gages are welded to the ribs and allows by manual measurement to determine whether the support system is functioning according to the design.
Monitoring foundation anchors and rock bolts - Psagot dan project, Ramat-Gan
Geotope installed load cells to determine the load of anchors. The load cells were installed in Psagot Dan project, Ramat-Gan as part of the contractor's quality control.
